London Fashion week is here.
The fashion showcase of the year officially kicks off today from its new location in Brewer Street car park and includes a programme of public events.
The 62nd anniversary of the prestigious event has moved from Somerset House to its new location of Soho in the heart of central London in an attempt by the British Fashion Council to make the event "open to all" and more accessible by giving it a more fashion-forward location.
The fashion event will see an influx of celebrities from all over the globe descend on the capital for the next few days to attend some of the most coveted designer events and after parties, with the likes of Kim K, Rihanna, Victoria Beckham and Kanye West being known to make front row appearances.
"London Fashion Week's creative energy is original, energetic and unforgettable", British Council Chairwoman Natalie Massenet told The Evening Standard.
The five day filled event of catwalk shows, designer showrooms, galleries and ‘show spaces’ will be showcasing an array of high end and high street designers from Topshop to Vivienne Westwood, to Saatchi and Burberry to name but a few of the 78 being featured.
Catwalk model Phoebe Parke said, “London Fashion Week is the most exciting show to be a part of, the excitement starts months in advance, it’s like getting ready for a very hectic wedding!’
Members of the public will be able to attend free screenings and showroom pop-ups in Golden Square throughout the week.
